DFS PRESENTS “THE RUNWAY”

March 2024 started off the busy season for ScenebyTeah Photography as I had the extreme honor of photographing Dress For Success Columbus’s first ever fashion show and networking event on March 1st. This event was to be a celebration kicking off Women's History Month as well as the kick off to Dress’s annual Level Up Summit and honey let me tell you, the event did not disappoint!

The Runway,”hosted at the Wild Goose Creative, featured the opportunity for professionals in the community to network in a cool and casual setting however, the highlight of the evening was a strategically curated fashion show called "The Dress Code," which shared the latest workplace fashions styled by Dress for Success Columbus.

This event was SO MUCH FUN! As I stepped into the vibrant atmosphere with my camera in hand, I felt an electric energy pulsating through the air. In every corner of the space, genuine laughter resonated and attendees were busy fostering authentic connections. Each click of my shutter captured not just moments, but stories unfolding in real-time. As the runway filled with voguish designs plucked directly from the DFS boutique, I was immersed in a whirlwind of creativity and imagination.

I know I made some people laugh out loud because I was in just about every nook & cranny of the building trying to get different angles, better lighting situations, and most importantly, trying to cut out background distractions in real time so that I didn’t have to do it in post editing. I was on the floor, on the ramp, outside the door, and some might even joke and say they saw me hanging from the chandelier haha. (There was no chandelier but, that’s how extra I was when it came to getting around the space lol).

As an event photographer, I thrive on the challenge of capturing the essence of an occasion, freezing emotions and expressions in time. The interplay of lights, colors, and personalities provided an ever-changing canvas, and I delighted in the opportunity to craft visual narratives that would resonate long after the event's conclusion.

Navigating through the bustling crowd of the DFS community, I found myself drawn to candid moments of laughter, animated conversations, and the subtle nuances of fashion statements. Each shot was a testament to the synergy between style and substance, highlighting not just the outward glamour, but also the underlying narratives of ambition and confidence. As the night unfolded, I realized that event photography is more than just documenting; it's about distilling the essence of an experience into images that evoke emotions and inspire connections. With each frame captured, I was not just a photographer but a storyteller, weaving together threads of moments to create a tapestry of memories that would endure beyond the confines of time.

If you weren’t in attendance this year, you’ll definitely want to mark your calendars to attend next year!
